Continuing Education

The College of Dentistry offers this program to dentists, dental hygienists, and dental assistants in an effort to assist them in maintaining their professional skills. The program presents the newest methods and materials and provides an opportunity for the acquisition of new skills and knowledge. Its objective is to assist in the continuation of the best dental care for patients.

General Information
Howard University College of Dentistry recognizes its obligation to dental practitioners to provide an opportunity for you to expand your skills, improve your techniques, and broaden your knowledge of dental health sciences. Each course offered by the College shall call upon dental faculty members or other sources inside or outside the University who will best ensure a complete learning experience. A wide variety of programming will be scheduled. The Continuing Dental Education Committee will appreciate comments or suggestions regarding course content.

All courses will be given at the College of Dentistry , 600 W St NW Washington, D.C., unless noted otherwise.


Any dentist or dental hygienist who is a graduate of an accredited school is eligible to enroll. Dental auxiliaries are eligible for those programs as indicated.

Outreach Program
The faculty of the College of Dentistry is eager and ready to cooperate with component societies study clubs, and interested groups in presenting continuing dental education courses in their locale. Continuing Education Credit
Howard University College of Dentistry Dental Education Program is designed as a recognized provider by the Continuing Education Recognition Program conducted under the auspices of the American Dental Association.
