Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE)

The Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) entails eight, 5-week rotations which occur during the final year of the curriculum. Rotations are divided into 3 courses - Summer (2 rotations), Fall (3 rotations) and Spring (3 rotations). APPE courses are reserved for P4 pharmacy students and may begin with the first rotation of the Summer, Fall or Spring semesters. These rotations incorporate didactic knowledge of the three preceding years, with "on-the-job" oversight and training by seasoned professionals who have been boarded and in practice for at least two years. Competency in the provision of patient care is combined with professionalism, cultural sensitivity overall knowledge of the profession. There are five required rotations , three clinical rotations including one internal medicine, one pharmacy administration, one community retail and three elective rotations.
